ABDOLREZA KAHANI

Abdolreza Kahani has been one of the most inventive filmmakers in Iran over the past decades. Beginning his career as a documentarian, he has since transitioned into a unique voice in narrative cinema, transcending familiar boundaries of the storytelling form in Iranian film. With films like Twenty, Absolutely Tame Is a Horse, and Absolute Rest, he has built a rich career that the despite its relatively short length, deserves much analysis.

Mr. Kahani will be a special guest at the 2017 CineIran festival, where a retrospective of his works will include screenings of several of his films.
