MOHSEN TANABANDEH
Renowned television and film actor, screenwriter and director Mohsen Tanabandeh was born in Tehran in 1975 and studied at the Tehran Art University. His film acting debut came in 2003 with Tiny Snowflakes but he is most well-known for his roles in TV series The Capital (Paytakht) and Shahgoosh. He has also worked with such highly-regarded directors as Alireza Davoudnejad, Majid Majidi and Jafar Panahi, among others.
Despite his selective taste in roles and a relatively short film career, he has won four Crystal Simorgh awards (from five nominations) for best lead and supporting actor at Fajr Film Festival. He won the last of his awards for his distinct performance in a unique role in Alireza Davoudnejad's Ferrari, which he will be presenting at this year's CineIran Festival.
